‘Bengal Press Club’ started its journey in the year 2007 when there was a challenge at the house of late member Indranil Sarkar. Bengal Press Club was created with great passion. Initially, we created this organisation only so that members could stand by each other emotionally and financially and for their entertainment. Then, the Bengal Press Club started doing social programs. Among the social programs are the distribution of clothes, blood donation camps, the distribution of fruits and healthy food items in hospitals on special days, the distribution of books and pens to needy students, and the Rakhi Bandhan festival, which are also various social programs.
‘Bengal Press Club’ is one of the journalism organizations in the state that works in the interests of journalists as well as in the public service of common people. We have been getting a lot of support from ordinary people in our social programs. The annual magazine “JANAMON” of the Bengal Press Club has received an enormous response from people. Bengal Press Club is constantly working on social programs and public service.
"In the end, the highest duty of the journalist is to remain true to the people they serve."– Bill Kovach As we continue to navigate an ever-changing media landscape, it is more important than ever that we stand together, supporting one another and championing the values of accurate and responsible journalism. Our club serves as a platform for collaboration, learning, and exchanging ideas, empowering each member to contribute to the noble cause of informing the public and safeguarding democracy. Bengal Press Club is where the voices of journalism unite to uphold truth, integrity, and freedom of expression. Our club stands as a symbol of the vibrant press community in Bengal, committed to fostering open dialogue, professional growth, and a shared sense of purpose among media professionals. In the coming months, we have a range of exciting workshops, events, and initiatives designed to develop the skills and knowledge of our members. I invite you to participate in these opportunities, contribute your insights, and engage actively with the dynamic community that the Bengal Press Club embodies. Together, let us continue to uphold the proud legacy of journalism in Bengal and beyond.
Warm regards, Sougata Sain Secretary, Bengal Press ClubDear Members and Friends, I am deeply honored and humbled to accept the position of President of Bengal Press Club.
